Free Educational Clip Art
Susan Pugsley Metalis
Susan (the artist formally known
as Susan Kae Pugsley) was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in
Long Beach, California.
Susan has studied art from
her years in high school and college, on through to the present
day. She received a bachelor degree in Fine Art in 1986 and a
teaching credential in 1987.
Susan’s interests in the
visual arts, philosophy, nature, and education have inspired her to
maintain an educational clip art web site, www.wisegorilla.com.
There, she makes available free clip art and educational material from
various religious traditions, themes from natural history, geography,
science and other relevant subjects.
The people who have been
most influential in Susan’s thinking about art include the renowned
artists, naturalists, and writers – “renaissance” people. These
are people whose creativity reflect multiple intellectual interests –
people such as the artists John James Audubon, Georges Seurat, and
Vincent Van Gogh; the naturalists Jane Goodall, Konrad Lorenz, and
Roger Tory Peterson; and the writers Bertrand Russell, Farley Mowat,
and Peter Singer.
