What is Public Domain?

A public domain work is a creative (i.e. painting, music, piece of writing etc.) work that is not protected by copyright and which may be freely used by everyone.  This means that the work belongs to everyone.  It may be copied, altered and published .The reasons that the work is not protected include:

The clip art that is offered on these pages is in the public domain, except for the bird drawings by Pugsley.  The public domain images were either created by me or gathered from public domain archives.  In many cases I altered the public works to make them more useful for educational purposes.

P.S. Please do not link directly to these  images.  You may download them an use them any way you find useful.

Sincerely,
Susan Metalis
